Abbeville Woman Celebrates Being Alive for a Century

ABBEVILLE, Al- Toss the confetti and pop the bubbly, soda that is, because it’s a PARTY!

One Abbeville woman is celebrating her birthday today, Sunday, December 23, 2012.

This is not just any celebration...Mrs. Eliza Baker turned one hundred years old!

Dorothy Baker shares some history about her Aunt, Mrs. Eliza Baker, in an exclusive interview right here on WTVY.com.

Not only does she have a birth certificate; she also has a proclamation from the Mayor of Abbeville to prove it.

Friends and family wanted to make this special day memorable so they threw her a surprise birthday party.

Party goers say Baker is known as being the woman with a great heart who is active in church and is a strong advocate for looking good.

She has also mentored family members that have grown up to be Harvard graduates, ministers, and entrepreneurs.

From the WTVY family…Happy 100th Birthday Mrs. Eliza Baker!
