(Dothan, AL)-- Dothan's first Toadlick Country Music Festival promises to bring in some major artists and help boost the local economy.

"we're going to have a lot of great artists, " Chris Gilbert, Toadlick President, Chris Gilbert said. Sara Evans, Trace Adkins, and Montgomery Gentry, are just some to name a few," he said.

15 performers set to hit the stage at the national peanut fairgrounds from march 22nd to the 24th,

Chris Gilbert, who is a Dothan native, hopes the three-day event will draw in large crowds.

"We've actually had out tickets on sale for a month now, and so far, so good," Gilbert said.

Selling tickets isn't Gilbert's only priority he's teamed up with the city of Dothan to give back to back to the community,

"Dothan needs something like this to bring revenue in, " Gilbert said. "I've lived and worked here my whole life, so I think it's something this city needs." he said.

The music festival could attract crowds of more than 40-thousand people, and that could help local businesses.

"The visitors are going to get gas, go shopping eat at our restaurants, and stay at our hotels, and that's a good thing," Dothan Mayor mike Schmitz said.

This is the first year for the Toadlick festival, and Gilbert hopes it wont be the last.

"I want people will leave Toadlick festival this year and want to come back next year," Gilbert said. "I want to make this a family tradition, "he said.

Tickets for the festival can be bought online. Daily admission is 55 dollars, but ticket prices will go up next month.
