The 25th Annual “Spirit of Service” Day Brings Houston County Forward

The 25th Annual “Spirit of Service” day is a chance to give back to the Wiregrass community. Many volunteers heard that call and decided to join in.

Participants from various organizations were involved in numerous service projects throughout the day. Helping hands dabbled in everything from painting to filling boxes with goods.
Organizers say by the end of the day, efforts will leave the county looking and feeling better.

"This is the best thing that the community could ever do. Houston County has been doing it for I think over 25 years. I'm just excited that I am apart of the team and that the food bank is being helped," Shirley Henderson, the Assistant Director of the Wiregrass United Way Food Bank.

Volunteers worked on at least15 service projects Saturday.
