Seniors at the Rose Hill Senior Center got a chance to learn more about the importance of healthy aging.
The first health fair was today at the center. It was a day of preparations and health screenings. The executive chef from a Dothan restaurant did a demonstration teaching seniors how to cook without salts or heavy butter.
"We have a lot of younger generation, older adults, the baby boomer generation that's coming into being age 65 and older, I feel like it's important to share information with them that will help them age healthy," said Nicole Norton, a senior rec leader. "To realize it’s okay to be healthy and it's okay to be healthy to live a longer and more effective life,”
The center plants to hold another health seminar that will be open to the public.
