July Events at Landmark Park

SUMMER CAMPS
Landmark Park’s 2014 camps continue in July! The camps offered are: Earth Art, Adventure Days, Earth Explorers, Pioneer Farm, Ecology Camp, Discovery Days, Farm and Forest Fun. Registration is required.

ANIMAL ADVENTURES
Fridays-July 11, 18, and 25 at 10 a.m.
This is an opportunity to learn about our natural world. Kids ages five and older are invited to see the wonder of many native animals. Programs include: Amphibians 101, Slithering Snakes, and Fishes of Alabama. Registration is required.

MUSIC BY MOONLIGHT
Thursday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy some great music at the gazebo. Pack a picnic and bring the family and friends.

HERITAGE FORUMS
Sundays-July 13, 20, and 27 at 3 p.m.
This series features guest speakers presenting programs on local history. Join us in the Interpretive Center Auditorium to hear lectures: “The Civil War in South Central and Southeastern Alabama,” Please Pass the Folklore: Family and Community Traditions in the Kitchen and Around the Dinner Table,” and “Emigration to Liberia From the Chattahoochee Valley.” Refreshments following.

REPTILE FEEDING
July 13, 4:00 P.M.
Visitors can meet our snakes face to face on the second Sunday of each month at 4 p.m. Landmark Park’s corn snake, will be featured at the program. Also, meet Indy, our Eastern Indigo snake, and learn why these Alabama reptiles are so important to the environment.

MEMORIAL DAY THROUGH LABOR DAY
May 26 through September 1
Landmark Park is now a Blue Star Museum. Free admission is offered to our nation’s active duty personnel including National Guard and Reserve and up to five family members
