DOTHAN, Ala. – U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-AL) announced today that Sambora Vaughan, from Dothan, Ala., recently completed a Congressional internship in her Dothan district office.

19-year-old Vaughan is a 2012 graduate of Cottonwood High School and is the daughter of Kelly Bysura. During her internship, Vaughan assisted Rep. Roby and staff members on a variety of tasks, including legislative research, record keeping and administrative duties.

Rep. Roby thanked Vaughan for her hard work while on behalf of Alabama’s Second Congressional District.

“I appreciate Sambora’s work this summer in our Dothan district office,” Roby said. “Our district offices carry a significant load in terms of case work and constituent service all across Central and Southeast Alabama. Sambora jumped right in showing great initiative and a servant’s heart for helping people in the Wiregrass. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

Congressional interns observe and take part in the workings of the United States Congress. Experience gained from these internships help students develop knowledge of the government and various policy issues, as well as professional skills that will be valuable in future pursuits.
