Geneva County Engineers Hope for Dry Weather

Geneva County’s engineer is hoping for clear skies.

Crews are working around the clock to repair hundreds of miles of dirt roads that were damaged by recent rains.

Governor Robert Bentley announced more funding for country roads.

“500 miles of dirt roads and it is pretty daunting task to keep them passable for the public, the mail and garbage trucks when you get one day of sunshine and four days of rain,” said Geneva County Engineer Justin Barfield.

Barfield says they will not be able to repair the roads until there is prolonged dry weather.
