A local businessman is placing his bid for a seat on the Dothan City Commission.
John Ferguson announced he is running for the District 4 seat. The Dothan native graduated from the University of Alabama. He owns a printing company in the circle city.
If elected, Ferguson says his first priority is public safety.
"If we can't support of children and our homes, so that's top priority and once we get those things kind of resolved and efficient, then i am open to any possible, projects we want to look at, but first we want to make sure we're safe," said Ferguson.
Critt Snellgrove is the current District 4 Commissioner. Voters will head to the polls in August.
