Enrolling Families for the HIPPY Program

The Alfred Saliba Center for Families’ HIPPY Program is now enrolling participants for a January 2013 start. This FREE program targets families in Houston County with three, four, and five-year-old children to strengthen family bonding, ensure school readiness and help parents improve the quality of life.

This is a 30 week program where age appropriate curriculum is delivered one-on-one weekly to parents in their home by a HIPPY Home Visitor. Each visit lasts approximately an hour and the HIPPY Home Visitor role-plays the weekly lessons with the parent. Throughout the week the parent will work with their child (15 minutes a day for 5 days) to complete the activities.

The following week, the home visitor will collect the child’s work and deliver the new lessons to the parent. The curriculum focuses on reading, math, shapes, color, and alphabet activities.

HIPPY ensures that every child is given the opportunity for early learning success in school and beyond.
