Dothan Newcomers Club Donates Checks to Local Charities

Businesses Writing Checks

Dothan "Newcomers Club" members have come together to give back to local charities in the Wiregrass.

The group fundraised over the past year to donate to the community. Spay and Neuter, Child Advocacy, The Miracle Field, Botanical Gardens and the Food Bank's Brown Bag Program were presented with this year's five checks. Olivia deBelle-Byrd was today's guest speaker. She is a Panama City author who wrote the book "Miss Hildreth Wore Brown".

"We feel like the community is family and that we all need to take care of each other and everyone needs
a little help now and then and who knows you may be in that situation one day," said Charlotte Gibson, the President of the Dothan Newcomers Club.

Today's presentation was held in the Dothan Country Club.
