Dothan Air National Guard members are getting a new re-designation.
Master Sergeant Richard Case is proud to be part of a new mark in his unit's history.
"It's an honor to be the support for special operations and we just do what we can to get the mission done," said Case.
Case is part of a 173-member brigade now referred to as the 280th special operations communications squadron. A title very fitting to the purpose of what this platoon executes.
"It does make you feel a little more important, when you're actually supporting the guys that are doing the job you feel a little more gung-ho," said Case.
Over 75 percent of the 280th Special Operations Communications Squadron has been deployed overseas at least once.
