The community is invited to help build a playground Saturday.
It's adjacent to the head start building on Powell Street.
Work gets started at 8 a.m., and by 2 p.m. the playground should be finished.
Friday, city workers were out prepping the land.
Organizers say building skills are not necessary.
They say there will be jobs for everyone, and they are hoping about 40-to-50 people show up.
“It is a lot of fun, and it's something you can say you were a part of. I go into communities and neighborhoods that we've built before, and those people always feel a sense of ownership of that playground that they helped build,” said Kim Meeker, Assistant Director of the Dothan Leisure Services.
The playground is funded through a Playful City USA grant.
Dothan was also just named a playful city for the 6th year in a row.
