A Pike County Community Celebrates Their Ancestors

A Troy, Alabama community remembers their ancestors with a homecoming celebration at an historic cemetery.

The Concord/China Grove cemetery was first established almost two centuries ago making it a very delicate piece of Pike County history. Today's celebration was put together by those who have ancestors buried at the cemetery. The homecoming was also another opportunity for the cemetery committee to collect funds to help maintain the area.

"We want to keep it up and be able to maintain it in a fashion that it was meant to be over the years," said John Key, the chairman of the Concord/China Grove cemetery fund.

If you would like to make any donations to the cemetery fund you can send them to 62 County Road 2302, Troy, Alabama, 36079.
