A Dale County chapter of Relay For Life offers comfort, support and a good meal to Wiregrass cancer survivors.
Survivors were treated to inspirational songs and interpretive dance. Organizers say that dinner is just a simple token of appreciation to let families know that someone cares, Personal testimonials were also given as well. The dinner was held at Ozark Baptist Church.
"Well it just gives you a warm feeling with all that they're trying to do to help people and it feels good to get to know people who have fought the same battle," said Joan Carter, an Ozark native and cancer survivor.
"Relay For Life" unites community members to honor those who have survived cancer. The Dale County Relay For Life will be held this Friday at 6 p.m. in the Ozark City Soccer Complex.
