DOTHAN, Ala. - Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) welcomes Dr. Jarrod B. Adkison, radiation oncologist, to the Southeast Cancer Network.

Dr. Adkison joins Drs. Steve Stokes and Mark Dosmann, both radiation oncologists, as a partner in the network. The cancer network currently operates clinics at SAMC and in Enterprise, AL and Marianna, Fla.

The new technologies available at the Southeast Cancer Network allow for the most sophisticated radiation therapy planning, delivering effective cancer treatment while minimizing the risk for side effects,” said Dr. Adkison. “It is truly a privilege to help patients fight this disease.”

Dr. Adkison completed his radiation oncology residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While in Wisconsin, he received the Radiological Society of North American Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award for his extensive research work on lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and brain tumors.

Dr. Adkison graduated with honors from the University of South Alabama (USA) College of Medicine in Mobile, where he specialized in radiation oncology, receiving two prestigious scholarships, one from USA and also the E.L. Gibson Medical Foundation Scholarship. During his internal medicine internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he was honored with the Samuel Eichold Award for Outstanding Achievement in Internal Medicine.
