SEATTLE (AP) - About 600 atheists and agnostics are expected to
gather in Seattle this weekend for the annual convention of the
Freedom From Religion Foundation.
Scheduled speakers include Ron Reagan, an avowed atheist and son
of the former president.
The convention will include a "Nonprayer Breakfast" on Saturday. Co-president Laurie Gaylor told The Seattle Times that instead of bowing their heads in a moment of silence, participants will shout and tap on glasses to make as much noise as possible.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation claims about 14,000 members
nationwide, including 900 in Washington state.
