Third Day Bass Guitarist Recalls Being Unplugged Before The Pope

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Third Day bass guitar player Tai Anderson says one of his worst-ever moments onstage was one year ago when the Christian band played for Pope Benedict in New York.

Anderson says it was a show they wanted to perform perfectly, both for the pope and for a crowd of more than 100,000 young Catholics.

But during the show, Anderson says a crew member accidentally unplugged his guitar, which left him silently playing "air bass."

He says it's times like that you want to yell at somebody, butknow you can't.

Third Day is touring now with Brandon Heath and the Australian band Revive.
