Secularist Group Buys Billboards Praising Darwin

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - A group made up of atheists and
agnostics has bought billboards celebrating Charles Darwin's 200th
birthday this Thursday.

They feature stained-glass designs, a picture of the evolutionary scientist and the message "Praise Darwin. Evolve Beyond Belief."

The Freedom From Religion Foundation's billboards are on display in Dover, Pennsylvania; Dayton, Tennessee; Whitehall, Ohio; Madison, Wisconsin and outside Grand Junction, Colorado.

The Tennessee and Pennsylvania towns had landmark court cases
about teaching evolution or challenges to Darwin's theory. In Colorado, the Freedom from Religion Foundation has complained to the Mesa County commissioners about prayers in public meetings.
