CHICAGO (AP) - An illegal immigrant who has sought sanctuary in
a Chicago church to avoid deportation for the past year says she'll
keep calling for immigration reform.
Flor Crisostomo has defied a deportation order to Mexico while living at the Adalberto United Methodist Church. Wednesday marked her one-year anniversary at the church.
The 29-year-old says she has no immediate plans to leave and wants to make sure that President Barack Obama makes good on campaign promises for immigration reform.
Crisostomo says the hardest part of the last year has been getting politicians to listen to her message. She says it's also been hard living without her three children, who are in Mexico with their grandmother.
