SANDY CREEK, N.Y. (AP) - More than 200 people packed a northern
New York church to remember eight victims killed in a house fire.
Pastor Linda Taber, who led the 20-minute memorial service at the United Methodist Church in Sandy Creek, spoke about the closeness among those who died and urged mourners to remember the happy times they shared with the victims.
The fire early Sunday killed Robin Dillenbeck and her four children, as well as her fiance, his mother and the mother's boyfriend.
Authorities are still investigating the cause, although they have been focusing on two wood stoves that were used to heat the home in Richland, a rural hamlet north of Syracuse. The aging, two-story home had no smoke detectors.
Another service is planned Sunday at the Pulaski Wesleyan Church.
