Charges: Stolen Church Money Paid for Vasectomy

MARION, Ind. (AP) - A former church official has been charged
with stealing more than $276,000 from church accounts and using
some of the money to pay for motorcycles, cars and a vasectomy.

William Jeremiah Six was director of finances for Lakeview Wesleyan Church and Lakeview Christian School in Marion, Ind., between June 2004 and July 2008.

Court documents say Six used electronic transfers from church and school accounts to pay his credit cards and medical bills.

Prosecutors say Six, who's 28, charged $736 to a church credit card to pay for a vasectomy in January 2008, then issued himself a check for the same amount from a church bank account one month later.

Court record say Six has repaid the church $25,000 to begin making restitution.
