MIAMI (AP) - As they prepare for tonight's college football championship game against the Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators
coach Urban Meyer says his team's faith is strong.
He says almost the entire team turned out for a voluntary chapel service earlier this week.
Meyer says the Gators' religious faith is "deeper than any program I've ever been a part of." The team is anchored by quarterback Tim Tebow, whose parents are missionaries.
Their Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association has ministered for decades
in the Philippines, where Tim was born.
The Florida quarterback was facing large crowds before he became
a football star. The first time, he says, was when he gave his
Christian testimony to 10,000 Filipino high school students.
