City of Jerusalem Hands Out Christmas Trees

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel doesn't celebrate Christmas, but dozens
of Christians in Jerusalem's Old City have been given free
Christmas by the city government.

Recipients of the trees were greeted by a man dressed as Santa
Claus who said he hoped celebrating Christmas will spread peace and
happiness in a time of "big conflict in Jerusalem."

Israeli soldiers were on hand to provide security.
