WOOSTER, Ohio (AP) - The Rev. Diana Johnson gets more than a
helping hand as associate pastor at Ohio's Wooster United Methodist
She gets four paws, courtesy of her Seeing Eye dog, Amber, who
accompanies Johnson daily on all her church duties.
Johnson has a degenerative retina disorder that started in her youth and progressed into adulthood.
At 50, Johnson finds herself doing just about everything but driving a car. She says you either adapt to a disability or sit in a chair and do nothing.
Johnson's duties as a pastor include writing the church newsletter, visiting people in the hospital, coordinating educational programs and preparing the church bulletins.
