ATLANTA (AP) - When an Atlanta pastor needed help reaching his goal of buying toys for 500 needy children this holiday season, he took his appeal to cyberspace.
The Rev. Shaun King solicited donors through social networking sites such as MySpace, Twitter and Facebook, on various blogs and
through a Web site. The 29-year-old minister, who calls himself
"the Facebook Pastor," netted $20,000 from the fundraiser.
King has previously used the Internet to grow his fledgling ministry at The Courageous Church, which plans to officially open
its doors next month in midtown Atlanta.
