WASHINGTON (AP) - A Christian band that was expecting to perform
for President Bush last night doesn't mind that he went to Iraq instead.
The White House, to keep President Bush's trip a secret, put out a false schedule that said he would attend the taping of TNT's Christmas in Washington show.
Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall jokes that he knew it all along.
Hall says, "We were secretly a part of this whole thing. See, we're the ruse for him to go on his mission. So I feel like, you know, a little Jack Bauer right now."
On a serious note, Hall says Casting Crowns has been invited to
return next Easter to North Korea, where they were allowed to
perform Christian concerts in 2007.
