ATLANTA (AP) - Jurors have deliberated a second day without
deciding on a sentence for the man who killed a judge and three
other people in a shooting spree that began in the Fulton County
Courthouse in downtown Atlanta.
The jury reached no decision Wednesday on whether to condemn Brian Nichols to death row or sentence him to life behind bars for the 2005 rampage. The panel began deliberating Tuesday morning and
will return Thursday.
The 37-year-old was found guilty last month of murder and dozens of other charges for killing the judge, a court reporter and a sheriff's deputy at the courthouse and a federal agent in an Atlanta neighborhood on March 11, 2005.
