Friends: Two British Missionaries Arrested in Gambia

LONDON (AP) - The pastor of an English church that supports a
missionary couple working in West Africa says they've been arrested
and charged with sedition.

Britain's Foreign Office confirms that two British citizens were arrested in Gambia and says it's providing them with consular assistance.

Pastor Martin Speed, whose Pentecostal church in Bolton, England, supports David and Fiona Fulton, says the Fultons were arrested last Saturday and were being held on sedition charges.

The church's Web site says the Fultons have worked in Gambia for
eight years.

Speed says friends contacted the Fultons at a police station in the Gambian capital, where the missionaries said they were being treated well.
