NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan says
President-elect Barack Obama is "America's blessing," and he's urging the black community to overcome divisions and organize behind one agenda.
Farrakhan, speaking yesterday at the State of the Black World
conference in New Orleans, said it would be a disservice to Obama
to place unreal expectations on him with the country's current economic condition. And he said there's work to be done by
Farrakhan also spoke warmly of Obama's former pastor, the Rev.
Jeremiah Wright, who had attended the conference and was among
those honored Saturday night. He said Wright does not hate America
but he detests injustices that occur in this country.
