Obama's Ex-pastor Criticizes Media

MILFORD, Conn. (AP) - President-elect Barack Obama's former
pastor is criticizing the media's coverage of a controversy that
caused Obama to distance himself from the minister during his
campaign.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright spoke Thursday night to about 200
people at a Milford, Connecticut, church during a forum about race
and religion.

Wright became well-known earlier this year after videotapes
surfaced showing him making anti-American statements from the
pulpit of the Chicago church where Obama worshipped for 20 years.
Obama eventually severed ties with Wright.

Wright insists that the quotes were taken out of context. He says he was trying to describe the anger that people felt following
the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
