Man gets back wooden cross

ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) - A large wooden cross stolen more than a year ago from a Port St. Lucie preacher is back with its owner.

Robert Barber has preached for years from a roadside corner. His
45-pound wooden cross was stolen in January 2007, and he eventually
replaced it with donations.

He told police Wednesday that he spotted the stolen cross in a
garage he was driving by. When an officer arrived a 24-year-old man
told him that he had taken the cross last year because he practices
a different religion from Barber.

Barber declined to press charges and took back the cross.
