Veterans Honored at Sunday Church Services

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Churches across the country have paid tribute to America's military veterans.

With Veterans Day falling on a Sunday this year, many pastors acknowledged the service rendered by veterans and their families.

The dean of Washington's National Cathedral, the Rev. Gary Hall, compared the burdens they carried and the sacrifices they were willing to make to Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross carrying the burden of mankind's sins.

Hall said Christians give thanks for Jesus's sacrifice, and all Americans should be thankful for the sacrifices that veterans have made and for the burdens they've carried.
