COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has a unique personal perspective on Sunday's deadly shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.
Haley's parents immigrated to the United States from India and raised her in the Sikh religion.
The governor says on her Facebook page that her prayers and condolences go out to the families of the victims. Six worshippers at a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee were killed Sunday. The gunman was also killed.
Haley married her husband in a Methodist service in 1996 and identifies herself as Christian. She says she attends both Methodist and Sikh services out of respect for her parents.
