Rubio Denounces Persecution On Human Rights Day

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Senator Marco Rubio has marked Monday's International Human Rights Day by denouncing religious persecution, human trafficking and the oppression of women.

Rubio cited Egypt, where embattled Coptic Christians face the prospect of second-class citizenship under a new constitution.

He also noted ongoing persecution in Iran, Saudi Arabia, China and Cuba, the country his parents fled.

The Florida Republican said Americans should never take their religious liberty for granted.
