TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is expected to talk about his faith when he accepts the party's nomination from the convention stage this evening.

Romney spokesman Kevin Madden says the speech will include some discussion of Romney's Mormon religion, a subject he hasn't frequently addressed on the campaign trail. Madden says, "He's going to talk a lot about what's informed his values, what's informed his outlook. Of course his faith is an important part of that."

Tonight's convention session will open with a prayer by Ken Hutchins, a longtime Romney friend and fellow Mormon. Hutchins says Mormons usually direct their prayers to "Heavenly Father," pray from the heart and close their prayers in the name of Jesus Christ.

Hutchins says he and Romney worked together leading Mormons in Boston and using church resources to help the needy.
