UNDATED (AP) -- Two women who died this week have left vastly different legacies.
March for Life founder Nellie Gray was 88; longtime Cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown was 90.
Both would claim to be advocates for women. But while Helen Gurley Brown wrote "Sex and the Single Girl," Gray lamented the harm she believed was being done to young women and society as a whole.
Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, says although Gray opposed what she called "radical feminism," he believes her opposition to abortion made her the more authentic feminist.
Nellie Gray was a devout Catholic. Helen Gurley Brown's motto was: "Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere."
Pavone says he hopes their deaths prompts a discussion about what truly is good for women.
