RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The Rev. Billy Graham turns 93 today, and
he's offering advice to others who are getting up in years.
America's most famous Christian evangelist has just published his 30th book, "Nearing Home," which contains reflections on life, advice about the need for financial planning as people age and the Christian hope of eternal life in heaven.
The Rev. Will Graham, a third-generation evangelist, says his
grandfather is spending this birthday at home with a small group of
friends and family, and will likely have some cake, ice cream and
his favorite dessert, crème brulee.
Billy Graham's last crusade sermon was in 2005. His grandson says the ailing evangelist has longed to preach one more time, but now tires easily, walks with difficulty and has trouble seeing and hearing.
These days, Will Graham says his grandfather shares his faith one on one.
