We believe that preaching God's Word is the most important part of our church. You can expect to hear a biblically sound message when you're here. You will be given an opportunity to respond to God's message at the end of the service. Read More
Johan Huibers, bottom right, poses, after being asked by a photographer to go outside, with a stuffed tiger in front of the full scale replica of Noah’s Ark in Dordrecht, Netherlands, Monday Dec. 10, 2012. The Ark has opened its doors in the Netherlands after receiving permission to receive up to 3,000 visitors per day. For those who don’t know or remember the Biblical story, God ordered Noah to build a boat massive enough to save animals and humanity while God destroyed the rest of the earth in an enormous flood. DORDRECHT, Netherlands (AP) -- A Dutch man has finished his 20-year quest to build a full-scale, functioning model of Noah's Ark.
Johan Huibers, a Christian, used the Bible as his inspiration, following the instructions God gives Noah down to the last cubit. Translating to modern measurements, Huibers came up with a vessel that works out to 427 feet long, 95 feet across and 75 feet high.
Johan's Ark is moored in the city of Dordrecht, just south of Rotterdam, and towers above the flat Dutch landscape.
Gazing across the ark's main hold, visitors gaze upon an array of stuffed and plastic animals. Elsewhere on the ark is a petting zoo with live animals and an aviary of exotic birds.
Johan's Ark also contains a restaurant on the topmost level and a movie theater capable of seating 50 people.
