AURORA, Colo. (AP) -- The Denver suburb reeling from Friday's theater massacre has received a presidential visit and has held an ecumenical prayer service.
At the Aurora Municipal Center, Mayor Steve Hogan and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper joined local clergy in praying for the 12 people killed, for the dozens more wounded and for the community traumatized by the shootings.
Roman Catholic Bishop James Conley quoted Jesus Christ's promise that those who mourn will be comforted.
At a nearby hospital, President Barack Obama met with shooting victims and their families. Afterward, he quoted the Bible's promise that someday God "will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more."
