Christian Fellowship Reaching Out To College Students

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship USA says its chapters on 576 college and university campuses are welcoming arriving students this week.

Alec Hill says this generation of young people is largely open to spiritual conversations. He says, "They love justice, they have a sense of community and they have a sense of the transcendent."

InterVarsity, he says, offers them everything from concerts and community service projects to small group Bible studies and discussions where all inquiries are welcome.

During the last school year, InterVarsity says it saw more than 3,300 students become Christians, 700 more than the year before.
