New Film From Makers Of "Fireproof" Opens Today

ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- The filmmakers from Sherwood Baptist Church
in Albany, Ga., hope their new film will do for fatherhood what "Fireproof" did for marriage.

"Courageous" opens today in 1,100 theaters nationwide.

Sherwood Pictures' executive producer, the Rev. Jim McBride, says it's a drama about four police officers who are also struggling to be good fathers. McBride says "Courageous" combines action and humor with a call for men to be the fathers their families need.

He's praying for a good opening weekend, so the film can reach a
wider audience.

Sherwood Pictures' last film, "Fireproof," was about a firefighter in a troubled marriage.
