BURLESON, Texas (AP) -- A student prayer tradition now in its third decade continues in the place where it began -- a public high
school in Burleson, Texas, south of Fort Worth.
In 1990, 10 Christian students gathered around Burleson High
School's flagpole to pray for each other, for their school and for
their nation.
The annual event, now called "See You At The Pole," has since
spread to campuses nationwide and to other countries as well, with
millions of students praying before class around their school
flagpoles.
Wednesday, Burleson senior Turner Schwartz told KCBI radio he's
praying that when his class graduates, younger students will
continue to meet and pray on the fourth Wednesday in September.
