My experience speaking for nonprofit organization, Be U: Beautifully Unique's Mother/Daughter Event

Anytime I have an opportunity to lend my voice to our youth is a joyous experience for me, that makes me smile! Saturday, May 17th was another one of those days in which I had the opportunity to stand before a room full of unique women to share my words of encouragement of knowing their worth while on this earth. I shared my poetry with them, hoping my words touched each young lady in attendence

As I think back over the years, I'm amazed at how much time and effort I've put into helping others with the gift of words, I've been blessed with. While I was a teenager those words were only for me, tucked away in my journals. Throughout college, it was fun just to string words together in my spare time of being creative. Now as an adult, I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing-helping our next generation.

There's a quote that says, "I want to inspire people, I want someone to look at me and say, because of you I didn't give up."  In a nutshell, that sums up my thoughts when I finish speaking to eager listening ears.

"Everything we do should be a result of our gratitude for what God has done for us." ~Lauryn Hill
