Hello my long lost friends. It's been a while since I've updated the blog. Maybe it's because I'm embarrassed I haven't done better at sticking with this plan to lose weight. So many temptations are around and time is always short (isn't it for us all?) and sometimes I just don't want veggies and fish. Nonetheless, here's my first effort at getting back on track...writing to you to let you know I'm not doing so hot.
Good news, I think I've lost a pound. Bad news, I should have lost at least 3 by now to be on track to finish the competition strong. I'm trying to work it out where I can do cardio at least 4 days a week, but with my schedule and the hours at my gym this is proving to be more difficult than I imagined. What to do? I tell you what I shouldn't do. Give up and eat a beef and cheddar from Arby's to cope. Yes, that's what I did two weeks ago. While it didn't help my waistline no doubt, unfortunately it was absolutely delicious! Way more so than the steamed broccoli I was supposed to be eating.
Oh but I'm not going to indulge that bad again, at least not until I kick these last 9 pounds butts! I'm motivated and ready to lose it. After all losing weight could mean the difference between life and death. For instance...I'm in the process, as many of you, of preparing for marriage. I'm Catholic so that entails a lot of classes and prep work. 2 weekends ago the fiance and I headed to a weekend long engagement retreat. Suffice it to say it wasn't nearly as cool as this past weekend's trip to the aquarium at GA, but it was something we had to go to. So my roommate, whom I had never before met, and I decided we weren't having a fabulous time and wanted to go hangout Saturday night out on the town. To do this would mean getting out of the building, which was locked up tight! Yup, like a prison. So we thought we'd outsmart the system by slipping out our bedroom window. But guess what? You got it...this slightly larger than desired ba donkey donk couldn't fit through the window. I mean, what if there was a fire and I needed to escape! I would have perished! This is proof positive this woman has got to hit the gym.
So keep checking back for updates and feel free to offer up encouragement! I obviously need it to get through this grueling process.
And don't forget to check out the trainer tips we are starting to post with this blog. It should have give you motivation and advice on how to get started with your very own "Get Healthy" kick! Good Luck to you.
