Wrapping up the journey to Sweden...preparing to head back to the Wiregrass!

Phew, just two days left and I'll be on my way back to the States.  I can't wait!  I leave out on Thursday morning and will get back about 9 o'clock in the evening.  It's about 16 hours worth of travel time, but I really can't wait!

I am making the most of my last days here in Sweden.  The group has been very busy (no surprise there.)  We've given our final Rotary presentation and said goodbye to most of our friends.  We are now in Stockholm seeing some of the cultural sights I read about only in history books.

The most exciting event over the past few days for me has been a trip to the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm.  3 of my team members decided we'd like the chance to see a great show while we were here.  We chose to see Romeo and Juliet (actually it was the only ballet playing the few days we are here.)  I loved it!  The dancing was great, the live orchestra was even better and it just made for a delightful evening.  I always imagine myself up on the stage, fluttering about and moving to the music.  If you know me you understand I am far too clumsy to ever be a true ballerina, but hey- a girl can dream.

We also visited the Wasa Museum which contains a ship from the 1600s that has been fully restored.  It was huge and amazing that people of that time had the equipment needed to pull the ship out of the water.

So right now I"m in bed in a room with my entire team.  There are five us in total.  We are stuffed into a hostel in the middle of the city.  Some members aren't so happy about other team members snoring- in fact one member has earned the nickname "grizzly"- but I feel quite cozy surrounded by people I've grown to love.  I feel like after being such a large part of one another's lives for a month, I can't help but feel a deep connection with each of them.  They are now my family, snoring and all.  I've earned the nickname "baby grizzly" yup guess I can snore a bit myself :)

As always, I'm exhausted so I'm going to head to bed.  Internet here is not reliable, so I hope to talk with you tomorrow.  Yesterday we had no connectivity so I guess it depends on the day.  Hope you had a great Memorial Day!  Thanks to all our veterans for allowing us to live in such an amazing country.  I can't wait to return- just a few days left.
