Books are my sanctuary. I can get lost in a book and hours will fly by. When I was little I read every single night. There was no better feeling than finding a book I could not put down. My favorite was “The Baby-Sitters Club” books. I think I read them all. My favorite character was Maryanne. I literally felt like she could understand me through the pages.
Now that I am older I still love to read. Early Saturday morning, library card in hand I headed downtown to check out the library. I got my coffee and prepared for a few hours of getting lost in knowledge. I was pleasantly surprised by the layout of the library and the helpful staff. I had been to the Westgate Library before and had wanted to check out the main branch for awhile.
Last night I read (in one sitting) the book by one of the girls held captive by Ariel Castro. Her autobiography was riveting and moving at the same time. I kept looking at the clock knowing I had to get to sleep but could not seem to stop the story. I haven’t read a book that good in many years.
What are your recommendations for me? Any books I should read?
