Dr. Vukovich was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin and received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University Evanston Illinois in 1981. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School in Madison Wisconsin in 1985. He completed his urology residency (1990-1994) at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth Virginia.
He is a Captain in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy Reserve. He was a U.S. Navy Flight Surgeon from July 1986 until March 1988 in San Diego California. Once Dr. Vukovich finished his residency in urology he served as a Staff Urologist at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola Florida (1994-1996). After leaving Active Duty in 1996, Dr. Vukovich remained affiliated with the Reserves, where he has served on the staff of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola Florida, and as Group Flight Surgeon for the 4th Marine Airwing Marine AirGroup 41 in Ft. Worth Texas, and is currently serving as the Senior Medical Officer on the Headquarters Staff of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Jacksonville Florida. He will retire from the Navy in 2009.
Dr. Vukovich joined Urological Associates of Dothan, PA in August 1996 and is the current Chief of Surgery at Flowers Hospital. He is the past President of the Medical Staff at Southeast Alabama Medical Center and has served as Chairman of the Quality Counsel and the Credentials Committee at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Dr. Vukovich is certified by the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
His professional memberships include: American Urological Association, Southeast Section American Urological Association, Houston County Medical Society, Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, Society of Government Service Urologists, Aerospace Medical Association, and the Society of United States Naval Flight Surgeons.
His professional interests include minimally invasive prostate therapies, laparoscopic renal surgery, male impotence, female incontinence, and endoscopic stone management.
