More than 50 Layoffs at Troy Plant
An employee says dozens are now without a job.

UPDATE 8:36 P.M.
A former employee of Sikorsky Aircraft in Troy called WTVY tonight to update us on the job situation there.
That employee told WTVY that the 57 employees who were let go were officially walked out the gate tonight.
He also told us that those former employees would be meeting at a Troy hotel on Friday with Sikorsky officials to go over separation benefits.

Troy, AL - WTVY is hearing reports that Sikorsky Aircraft in Troy is laying off dozens of employees.
One employee called WTVY Thursday, and said 57 employees were let go including him.
He was the told the reasons for the layoffs are the bad economy.
WTVY has made multiple calls to Sikorsky Aircraft, but no one has answered.
We are working to get confirmation of these layoffs and will continue to update this story.
