HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The judge set to preside over accused
UAH shooter Amy Bishop's upcoming preliminary hearing Tuesday on
capital murder and attempted murder charges issued a gag order in
the case today.

District Judge Ruth Ann Hall barred attorneys for both the
prosecution and defense as well as law enforcement personnel from
talking to the media.

According to Hall's order, they are prohibited from making
"extrajudicial statements," essentially statements outside the
court proceedings.

They cannot discuss the possibility of a plea agreement or
existence of any confessions or statements or the refusal to make a
statement by the defendant, among several other things.

Hall says the order will ensure Bishop - who is accused of
killing three colleagues and wounding three others at a University
of Alabama in Huntsville biology faculty meeting Feb. 12 - will
have a fair trial.
