GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Officials in three northeast Alabama
counties say recent storms will cost more than $4 million for
debris cleanup, power restoration and emergency services.

Anita McBurnett, director of the Marshall County Emergency
Management Agency, says costs continue to grow as the area recovers from storms on April 10, 13 and 19.

Hardest-hit were Preston Island near Grant and across Guntersville Lake at South Sauty near Langston, with tornado damage.

Countywide, 23 houses were destroyed and 39 had major damage.

That does not include 39 mobile homes that were destroyed and five
that were heavily damaged.

Other storm damage occurred in Jackson and DeKalb counties.
